Pruitt's Auto Collision: Repair Process

First the vehicle is inspected to determine extent of repairs. Often there is internal damage that is not visible without some disassembly. This process is sometimes necessary to determine appropriate time & cost of repairs including parts that may need to be ordered, and allows us to provide the most accurate data for insurance review. At this point an estimate is provided to you.	Once the estimate is completed, it is provided to the insurance company for review. There may be some negotiations on the price and procedures required to repair the vehicle, including if the vehicle is even repairable. Once settled, the vehicle repair process begins.	The repair process can not begin until the shop receives all of the structural parts, which are ordered immediately if they are available. Special order parts will take longer and may prolong the process.

The unitized body is reset back to the factory specifications. A sophisticated measuring system is used to monitor all phases in this area, including frame analyzation. This system assures accurate and appropriate repair.	The Repair Department replaces exterior panels and any metal finishing that may be required. The vehicle begins to come back to life as sheet metal is installed and aligned.	All panels are prepared for paint, then primed and sealed to assure good adhesion when the final top color and clear coats are applied.

Final moldings and detail pieces are put back on and all vehicle systems are checked.	Vehicle is cleaned of any dust & dirt accumulated during the repairs. It will also be road tested and given a final inspection to ensure that the vehicle is running properly and restored to its pre-accident condition.	That’s it! You will be contacted when your vehicle is ready. When you arrive we will explain any paperwork or processes if necessary, and are happy to answer any questions you may have.
